Ugly Love

I wasn't very fascinated with Maybe Someday before but I think Ugly Love just topped my least favorite CoHo book list right now. Ms. Hoover, please get chracters like Will and Dean back...

When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

Never ask about the past.
Don’t expect a future.

They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.

Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.

-I don't know about you, but I can't really like these messy love triangles. I hate that we have to forgive Miles for what he did to Tate because of his past. I hate that she let him hurt her even though from the start, she FREAKING knew that she's going to fall for him. Miles and Ridge are like the most confusing guys I know. i don't even feel bad for Tate anymore (been there with Sydney). Most of all, I hate how pitiful and stupid our last two heroins are.

Seriously Tate, when a guy uses you for sex, he's not worth it. When a guy calls his ex-gf's name while you're having sex with him, you would not tell him to finish, you should have left. You should have more self-respect than that.

And for Miles: I'm so full of your past. i honestly skipped Miles' POVs everytime I see the name Rachel. And look, I still got what happened.

I thought Maybe Someday was bad but this is worst. I'm really sorry CoHo, I tried to be respectful and honest at the same time but I guess, honesty and frustration won.

On the other hand, maybe that's what CoHo is teaching us: letting the past go. Clap clap also for the hot scenes in the book. Wow, at least we're not lacking on the physical department.

SHOUT OUT TO CAP! <3

  1. I keep seeing Colleen Hoover everywhere. I guess I need to read at least one of her books. But, gah, the reading list is so long already! Lol, perhaps I'll get to her soon enough.

    1. I personally think that she's an amazing writer. I mean I've been a fan since Slammed and Hopeless and yes, these last two books disaapointed me but you can't deny her incredible writing style. my reading list is long too, haha but I squeezed her because of loyalty. Anyway, thank you for the comment! :)
